On July 11 2021, Europa Verde held its founding Congress and elected Eleonora Evi and Angelo Bonelli as co-spokespersons.
Europa Verde, a rejuvenated cooperation political project, opens a new space for cooperation among forces of political ecology in Italy.
Evelyne Huytebroeck, co-chair of the European Green Party comments:
“The founding of Europa Verde, heir of the important history of Federazione dei Verdi, is an important step towards strengthening and enlarging the ecological space in Italy. We find ourselves in a crucial moment, as we are still facing a pandemic and gearing up to bear its socio-economic consequences, while still fighting for ambitious plans to mitigate the effects of the climate and biodiversity breakdown. We believe Europa Verde will be a relevant ally for this fight.”

“Italy is a country of high priority for the European Green Party. We will welcome, give a voice, and actively support all those wishing to join forces for the enlargement of political ecology in Italy.
