Green strategies against the far right in Europe
Organised by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung.
All across Europe far right parties are on the rise. Their narratives are seeping into mainstream debates. The centre-right is singling out Green parties and movements, elected officials and local members are being threatened and even physically attacked. The political climate is turning more and more aggressive and campaigning for Green parties ahead of the European elections is becoming increasingly difficult.
As the European Green Party and its member parties are about to begin their major election campaigns, we would like to discuss with our panellists and the participants experiences and strategies to combat right-wing narratives, to counter disinformation, to develop resilience against political defamation and to protect from verbal as well as physical attacks. We aim at providing a space to discuss local experiences and share common strategies in this complex and threatening environment ahead of June 2024.
