The stimulation of a broad discussion in the member parties about the document on the future of Europe

In view of

-       the relevance of this  document for the future role of the greens in Europe,

-       the importance of a broad support among the members of all parties for the decisions to be taken at the coming congress in Geneva,

-       the general feeling that the future of Europe should be discussed in a larger forum than usual,

the 4th Council of the EGP

-       expresses the opinion that a broad consultation of members of green parties represented in the congress about this document is very desirable,

-       supports the intention of the committee and working group to deliver a draft text in June/July 2006 in order to enable this consultation 

and urges

-       the committee to enable distribution by publication of the draft on the website of the EGP,

-       the party boards and political bodies at regional/local levels to plan a discussion in their parties before the congress about the draft text  with participation of their congress delegates and if possible with representatives of green parties from other countries.
