Against modern slavery

Multinational enterprises cause extreme damage both to people and surroundings, and the European countries play an important co-role as receivers.

Examples are that Burmese refugees in the Northern part of Thailand work as slaves in the clothing factories. Their salaries and their standard of living are far below what could be called human standards. Also Chinese workers get slave salaries. The uncritical use of cheap products in the Western countries is built on inhuman treatment. The shop owners in the end of the production chain, close their eyes, and blame a diffuse delivering system.

The green parties in Europe claim that the different national governments actively support the binding UN-norms in order to stenghten the responsibility and accountability of the companies in respecting human rights, social and environmental standards.
