European Green Party co-chair Ciarán Cuffe said: “We strongly condemn the ongoing, repeated violations of international law and call upon the EU governments to finally take decisive action to apply pressure on Israel. The rhetoric of Israel’s far-right ministers is replicating the Gaza playbook on Lebanese soil: attack, destroy, occupy. This pattern of escalation and mass displacement destabilises Lebanon and the wider region.’
Vula Tsetsi, European Green Party Co-chair, said: "The European Union cannot remain passive in the face of violations of international law in the context of Israel’s military operations in Lebanon. It must act with clarity and use all its political leverage. With more than one million people displaced and thousands of casualties, the human suffering is unacceptable. We are witnessing a dangerous pattern of escalation, with catastrophic consequences for civilians in Gaza and Lebanon. The EU must immediately suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement. Protecting civilians and upholding international law must guide Europe’s response.”
