As political advisor you will be responsible for:

Monitor and advise on the EU political developments within the scope of legislative agenda of the Greens/EFA in the European parliament, the European Parliament and the European Council. Follow, process and provide relevant input to HoU and Sec Gen and propose action where appropriate.

Contribute to monitoring and identifying innovative Green policy areas. Support Head of Unit in following, processing and facilitating the general political and policy trends and advise on political developments across Europe.

Leads the work on statutory and decision-making processes in EGP, including drafting resolutions and other policy documents on behalf of the Committee and supporting Committee in facilitating the work of policy working groups, amendments committee, etc.

Coordinate and foster EGP’s relations, ensure information flow with to be defined/designated member parties (to be defined based on the profile of the candidate). Follow, analyse, and channel towards the EGP, in liaison with the Secretary General and Committee members responsible, major political developments in the relevant countries and in EGP member parties. Do small scale project management related to the relevant member parties.

Advise and provide input to the Communication unit on political messaging in accordance with EGP, Member parties and Green partners communication.

Supports Programme Unit in the definition of political programme of EGP events and projects.

Contribute to and foster EGP’s relations with CSOs and partners in line with the organisation’s priorities and propose action where relevant.
The advisor will be part of the Policy, Strategy and Capacity Development Unit, and work under the supervision of the Head of the Unit and Secretary General.

Requirements

Previous work experience in similar positions in policy field (minimum 3 years)

Experience in project management, excellent organisational and time management skills to coordinate multiple processes and projects, often on tight deadlines

Excellent people skills, ability to work independently and in multi-cultural teams, and coordinate organization of complex workflows and processes

Excellent writing skills in English language
-
Ability to take initiative and problem-solving attitude

Good computer skills and digital literacy
-
Flexibility to travel and occasionally work during evenings or weekends

Proficiency in the English language (working language of the organisation)

Knowledge of additional European languages
Assets

Knowledge of the EGP and its functioning

Previous work experience in and / or good understanding of EU politics, Green policy issues, and the European Green political family in general

Understanding and adhering to Green values such as ecology, feminism, anti-racism and social justice
Our offer

A full-time contract (37 hours / week) of unlimited duration with flexible working hours. Please note that occasional work-trips around Europe and, in urgent cases, unsocial working hours may be required.

Starting salary range for grade 3 (min. 3 years of relevant experience), for 37h/week is: 3410 – 4185 EUR gross / month

Starting salary range for grade 4 (min. 5 years of relevant experience), for 37h/week is: 4546 – 5063 EUR gross / month

Note: grade level will be assessed based on the previous experience and profile of the candidate.
Work location: The work is mainly located at the European Green Party headquarters: Rue du Taciturne 34, 1000, Brussels, Belgium; with occasional travel, both in Belgium and abroad.
