🗺️ Getting to Dublin
By Plane
Dublin Airport (DUB) is Ireland’s primary international gateway, with connections from across Europe, and beyond.
By Train/Ferry
👉 If you are interested in travelling to Dublin by ferry and train, check out the blog post of the Dublin City Councillor, Michael Pidgeon.
For those traveling from the UK or mainland Europe, combining a train and ferry trip can be a slower, but pleasant, economic, and eco-friendly option. Ferries arrive at Dublin Port or Dun Laoghaire Harbour.
Ferry companies:
IMPORTANT: For those interested in Sail & Rail options, tickets must be booked through the ferry companies, and not the rail companies (where the tickets would be more expensive and would not include the ferry).
By Train
Dublin’s main train stations, Heuston and Connolly, connect the city with the rest of Ireland. From either station, you can take the Luas tram to reach the CCD in about 15-20 minutes.
How to arrive from the Airport to the venue Congress?
Once you arrive to the airport, you can easily reach the CCD:
Dublin Bus Express (783/784): This direct service runs every 10-15 minutes, taking about 30 minutes to drop you near the CCD (Stop at Dublin City North Wall Quay - Rockets Restaurant, IE, 2 mins walking distance to CCD). Tickets cost €8 one way and can be purchased at the airport or online here.
Dublin Bus: Routes 16 and 41 are more budget-friendly (around €3.30 one way) but take longer and may require a transfer to reach the CCD. Tickets can be purchased on the bus (exact change required) or through the TFI Leap Card.
How to navigate the city?
Luas Tram: The Luas is the quickest way to move around central Dublin. The Red Line will be your go-to for getting to the CCD.
Dublin Bus: Buses cover most areas and connect the city centre, the airport and nearby towns like Howth and Malahide.
DART Train: This coastal train runs from Howth in the north to Greystones in the south, offering a scenic way to explore the suburbs and coastal areas. More information.
Bike: Dublin is becoming increasingly bike-friendly, with many bike lanes and the Dublin Bikes sharing scheme, which offers a convenient and eco-friendly way to explore. You can hire a bike by purchasing either a 1-day ticket or 3-day ticket. More information.
