We invite you to join us for the 40th Congress of the European Green Party, where our movement will set its course for the years ahead, in the city of Lisbon, Portugal, from 5 to 7 December 2025. Friday will be focused on internal decision-making, while Saturday will feature a rich public programme, open to partners and civil society, with contributions from high-level guests. 

This Congress is a key event for the European Green family, bringing together hundreds of Green party delegates, national and local leaders, activists, civil society representatives, and supporters from across Europe. 

At a time when Europe faces mounting threats and emerging possibilities, the Greens stand resilient. Our movement continues to lead on solutions that protect the climate and the environment, people’s rights and freedoms, defend the rule of law, and push back against the far right. Now more than ever, we need a united, progressive Green movement to lead the fight against the climate crisis, defend democracy and human rights, and build a just, sustainable future for everyone in Europe. 

This 40th Congress showcases a mature and relevant political force, central to building progressive majorities across the continent, and determined to expand its influence all over Europe, including in the Iberian Peninsula.  

This Congress will be a moment to connect with one another and reaffirm our shared commitment to a sustainable, just, fair, and democratic Europe.
