Green politics in Tampere from the 80’s until today. Satu Hassi, the first person to be elected to the Tampere City Council from a green list and a long-serving MP, former MEP and minister, and Jaakko Mustakallio, Vice-president of the City board and Vice-chair of the Finnish Greens, will walk you through the history and present of Greens in Tampere.
Satu Hassi, Member of Finnish Parliament
Satu Hassi was elected to the Tampere City Council from the first ever Green list in 1984 and later on became a Green MP, leader of the Green parliamentary group and a Minister for Environment. She has also been the leader of the Green Party in Finland and served as a MEP for 10 years. She is currently an MP and the Chair of the Grand Committee at the Finnish parliament. She is also a writer and has published several books

Jaakko Mustakallio is a Green City Councillor in Tampere and the vice chair of the City Board. He is also the vice chair of the Green party. He was previously the chair of the Green Youth and has been a parliamentary candidate and holds several positions of trust. He holds a Master of Economics degree.
