In Brussels
A streak of disappointing climate measures came from European institutions in the last months – putting the Green Deal at risk and our climate commitments on the line.
On the occasion of the 33rd European Green Party Council, the Green family will gather on Friday 28 May at 13:00 at Mont des Arts (Brussels – meeting point here) with one clear message: SAVE THE GREEN DEAL!
The European Green Deal was meant to put Europe on track to keep global temperature rise to 1.5C. But over the last months, key pieces of the Deal are being watered down – agricultural policy failing to protect farmers and biodiversity; continued funding of fossil fuels; and greenhouse gas emission targets that fail to meet the science or our global climate commitments.
But we still have a chance to Save the Green Deal. We, the green family, must continue taking the lead in acting on climate change. Therefore, we send a warm invite to all green members to join us on the 28th of May and send a clear message to #SaveTheGreenDeal.
This will be the opportunity to demonstrate the strong unity of the Greens on the climate front at all levels: from local to European-decision makers, we make rapid climate action our daily reality!
We are looking forward to seeing your there!
