Saturday, 4 June
18:00-19:00
Room: Gama
European Network of Green Seniors (ENGS) will convene 4 June 2022 to this year’s General Assembly in a hybrid meeting from 18.00 to 19.00 EEST (Riga time). We will discuss and adopt our activity report and plans for this year. We will also accept necessary changes as concern the members of the Board.
During corona year 2021 we had no face-to-face meetings, but we were quite active, though. The Board met 7 times and negotiated with the leaders of the EGP of the role and future of the ENGS. In connection to the Council meeting in May, a fringe meeting on Poverty and Homelessness was arranged. This spring the ENGS prepared and sent to the European Commission its comments on the green paper on Ageing – fostering solidarity and responsibility between generations.
Please see below the letter sent to EGP Member Parties to call for candidates for ENGS board.
Dear Green Seniors,
You are cordially invited to the next General Assembly (GA) of the European Network of Green Seniors. The Assembly will convene Saturday 4 June 2022 at 18.00 – 19.00 EEST. The event will be held as web meetings, alongside the 35th Council of EGP.
This invitation is sent to all Member associations of the EGP. We cordially ask you to distribute this information to your Green senior’s association or, if no such association exists, to the senior members of your Party. (If there isn’t a Green Senior association in your country, we would strongly recommend establishing one. The population in all European countries is ageing and the Green movement cannot prosper if the older generations are not drawn to the activity of the Green Parties.)
In accordance with Article 6.3 of our Statutes (https://www.greenseniors.eu/about-us/statutes-engs/) the GA convenes once a year. The agenda for the meeting is the following:
- Opening – Chair of the meeting, secretary, confirmation
- Confirmation of entitled to vote
- Notice to attend the GA
- Approval of the minutes of the latest GA, held as a web meeting 28 May 2021.
- Annual report for 2021 (as Annex 1)
- Financial report for 2021
- Audit
- GA gives approval of the period´s performance to the previous Board
- Membership fee

- Proposals from the Board
- Elections of chairwoman/man, treasurer, secretary general, decision about the number of members of the Board, election of Board members in addition to the elected ones

All participants to the 35th Council of the EGP will be able to see these sessions on the EGP home page https://europeangreens.eu/riga-2022/programme. They will be able to access it there.
