Saturday, 4 June

14:30-16:00 (EEST)

Room: Gamma

The Campaign training aims to equip participants with knowledge and skills about campaigning in context: importance, referendums on issues, party positioning and issue ownership, SWOT analysis and power mapping, emotional messaging, and adjusting to the context.

Moreover, the training will cover the latest Digital trends in campaigning, such as apptivism, Instagram & Twitter tactics, and Mobilisation through digital organising .

Finally, participants will be introduced to one of the latest EGP projects – The Green Campaign Handbook. The Handbook is a manual with the basics and the latest trends in campaigning tactics designed to support Green parties in campaigning for local, national, and European elections. This is where we share our lessons, so we start learning

Trainer:

Sybren Kooistra, campaign manager, EGP'19.

Sybren started his career as a volunteer for the ’08 Obama campaign. Ten years later he was the campaign manager of the European Green Party during the “Green Wave” European Parliamentary elections. In the Dutch parliamentary elections of 2017, he helped the Dutch Greens grow from 4 to 14 seats by introducing new campaign tactics.
Currently, Sybren is part of a creative campaign cooperative that helps many Green parties, unions and movements across Europe.
