The European Green Party, in collaboration with of ECOLO and Groen, is hosting “Reset the EU: regain trust, rebuild vision”, taking place on Friday 9 December 2016, 19.30, at BOZAR, Horta Hall, Rue Ravenstein, 23, 1000 Brussels.
At a time in which the world seems increasingly an unstable place, and when the story of Europe seems to be one written in frustration and disunion, our event will give a voice to those who remain optimistic in the European project.
The event will be divided into two parts. In the first, speakers will share their own personal stories with the audience, highlighting how the existence of the European Union played a critical role in their successes, or how the lack of it resulted in their failures.
We will present 8 interesting EU testimonials: the researcher Etleva Durmishi (Kosovo Stability Initiative, Pristina) will discuss how peace is still a significant part of the European project. Judge José María Fernández Seijo (Court of Appeal, Barcelona) uses European law to fight against evictions in Spain. Educator Abdelillah Hadnan from the Centrum West youth center (Molenbeek, Brussels) will speak about his work supporting young people who want to identify as Europeans. Youth Guarantee job coach Lies Creve (Brussels) will highlight the role this EU programme has in supporting youth employment in Brussels. Fabien Miclet, coordinator of Liveurope, will present this pan-European platform supporting emerging European musicians. Jo Huygh will introduce his urban development project Abattoir (Brussels).
During the second session we are glad to present French author and journalist Raphaël Glucksmann, who will discuss the ever changing notion of “European identity” and how to mobilise against populism.
A jazz band will entertain us with their music throughout the evening, and the event will close with a party.
The event will be held in English, French and Dutch, with interpretation in all the mentioned languages provided throughout.

European Green Party
The countdown is now on until our pivotal Berlin Council between 23-25 November when we will come together among Greens to map out our shared future. On top of the agenda will be the vote to elect our Leading Candidates (known as spitzenkandidaten) who will represent the Green family at European level and blaze a path towards the May 2019 European elections. Alongside this, we’ll be adopting our Manifesto and launching our campaign plan.
The European Greens were delighted to gather the green family from across Europe together with Groen, one of the Belgian Green parties, between 18-20 May in the city of Antwerp, Belgium.
