Ska Keller

Ska Keller (MEP - Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) is one of the Green leading candidates for the European Elections in May 2014.

I grew up in the Eastern Bloc, but have lived Europe for as long as I can remember. Anti-racism and internationalism became guiding principles as I worked on cross-border solidarity in my home on the Polish border. Young Greens and Green Parties of Europe spoke to this in a way that never quietened, but still calls me today. For our shared environment, for a united Europe of peace and freedom, capable of facing social, economic and international challenges, for the things that hold us together. A Europe of solidarity of generations and regions; for all people, against austerity. With your support, I will campaign in all parts of Europe to convince people that now is the time to vote green.

Fukushima anniversary – Europe must abandon nuclear energy

On the third anniversary of the Fukushima disaster, Green parties across the EU are remembering the victims of the tragic accident and are calling for a Europe-wide nuclear phase out. Nuclear energy is expensive and highly risky and Greens will continue to fight against it. People voting Green in the next European elections in May can be sure what they get: a clear ‘no’ to nuclear and a big ‘yes’ to energy saving and renewables.

Green Primary Contenders to win votes in debates in Rome and Paris
Body:

The four contenders in the Green Primary will be taking part in two separate debates this week, in Rome and Paris. The Rome debate, hosted by Green Italia – Verdi will take place on Monday 20 January. The Paris debate, hosted by Europe Écologie - Les Verts will take place the next day, on Tuesday 21 January.

As populist parties push an anti-immigration, anti-European, eurosceptic message, along with driving the reemergence of nationalism across Europe, these Green Primary debates are a vital opportunity to show that the Greens reject this philosophy and have a better, more coherent and inclusive vision for Europe's future. Europe isn't just a group of separate nations - We Are Europe.
