One of the aims of the EGP Gender Network is to strengthen the cooperation and communication between Green Parties, the FEMM Committee (Women’s Rights and Gender Equality) of the European Parliament, and civil society.
In March 2021 the European Commission presented a Directive to “strengthen the application of the principle of equal pay for equal work or work of equal value between men and women through pay transparency and enforcement mechanisms”. We are happy to invite you to know more about this Directive with Green MEP Kira Peter-Hansen – rapporteur of this Directive in the Emplyment Committee of the European Parliament – and Mary Collins – Senior Policy and Advocacy Coordinator at European Women’d Lobby-.
With both speakers we will tackle aspects such as the content of the Directive, the green demands to improve it, the timeline and potential impact on national public policies, as well as to discuss key concepts such as equal pay job for equal value from a feminist perspective.
