34th Council of the European Green Party
The 34th European Green Party Council is now taking place online with a reduced statutory programme on 1-4 December. Originally, we had planned to hold the Council in Budapest, Hungary. However, after very careful consideration of the recent developments of the COVID-19 situation in many European countries, the European Green Party has taken the very difficult decision that the 34th Council WILL NOT be organised physically in Budapest as initially planned.
This was not an easy decision as we were eager to reconnect with all the friends of the Green family after such a long time of distanced cooperation. We understand and apologise for the big disappointment of all of you who were expecting to meet face-to-face in Budapest, and jointly enjoy a lively political discussion. However, we must keep as first concern the health and public safety of all delegates, staff members, volunteers and communities engaged around our events and beyond.
The Council brings together our Green family (this time online) to decide on a joint political trajectory for the next period ahead. This Council’s resolutions, which put into writing our common positions and are voted on at the event, tackle topics that are currently on the forefront of the Green agenda, such as the fight against corruption, dismantling fortress Europe, strengthening resilience at the local level, and much more!

We are the most united political family because we move ahead together. We are proud of the enormous work Green parties across Europe do to bring common positions to the Council! The final resolutions, which will represent a united Green position on the issues, and function as our mandate for action, will be published after the voting session on 4 December .
2022 will be an important year for the European Green movement, with many key elections and other political milestones. We look forward to meeting with you all again next year! In the meantime, we hope that you and your close ones stay well and healthy.
