On Wednesday June 12, the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament launched their new data protection campaign, Respect my Privacy.
New European data protection legislation is currently proposed by the European commission. The Respect my Privacy campaign is motivated by the need to make sure European citizens understand the critical elements in this legislation.

The need for better data protection rules has been highlighted in the past week, with the revelations of the PRISM scandal in the US.
