The key issues to be discussed by the project are Green socio-economic policies proposals needed in Europe to overcome the ecological, economic and social crisis, as well the means to ensure a more democratic Europe that is able to respond to the rise of populism and is fit to address the democratic challenges of creating a more integrated Union.
The current triple environmental, social and economic crisis is a "make it or break it" type of challenge for the Euro-zone and the EU at large. It is now more than ever that there is a need to discuss the European Union, its future structure and what it needs to do to overcome the current difficult situation. In this context, GEF, with support of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung and other national Green foundations across Europe, are developing project aimed at mapping the various national discourses on the state and future of the European Union, as well as identifying and putting forward Green positions on the topic.
