Austrian Green Madeline Petrovic has been elected to the EGP Financial Advisory Board at our Electoral Convention meeting in Brussels. Her confirmation to the post, which took place before the Plenary session, was uncontested.
Following the EGP's call for nominations for the final remaining place (which, because of gender balance rules had to go to a woman), Petrovic was the only nomination. She was nominated by Die Grünen, the Austrian Green party – her nomination was supported by Bündnis 90/Die Grünen (Germany) and Groen (Belgium).
Petrovic is a member of the regional Parliament in Lower Austria, and studied law and economy in university. On her motivation to apply for the role she said, “Greens often criticized a lack of transparency of public budgets and of international companies. We have to make sure that we do better and that our standards of economic and financial responsibility correspond with our demands for public households.”
She joins Ute Michel (UK) and Dan Michels (Luxembourg) on the Financial Advisory Board. You can find Madeline Petrovic's CV here.
