During the Green Party congress the representatives of the Lithuanian Green Party‘s branches expressed their trust and re-elected member of Lithuanian Parliament Linas Balsys as the chairman of the party. The Chairman of the Board Remigijus Lapinskas who is also the President of green thinktank The Green Policy Institute was also re-elected.
The Board was supplemented by well-known experts in their fields, representatives of non-governmental organizations, public persons, such as the Lithuanian Green Party Chairman of Commitee on Energy and the President of Lithuanian Confederation of Renewable Resources Martynas Nagevičius, Chairman of Committee on Environment and Climate Change Almontas Kybartas, an economist and expert on sustainable development Indrė Kleinaitė, architect and visionary of sustainable urban development Justas Ingelevičius.
“Over the past few years a lot of young people who have done much in their area, have joined the Lithuanian Green Party. I am glad that the most active ones have been added to the Board of the Lithuanian Green Party. They will help us a lot in daily party activities, as well as with preparations for the forthcoming municipal council and parliamentary elections”, Linas Balsys said.
Lithuanian Green Party congress was also attended and the welcome speech was given by representatives of Lithuanian Peasant and the Greens Union, environmental non-governmental organizations.
