The European Parliament has voted to adopt a report that calls for binding targets on renewable energy for 2030. The vote comes just weeks after the European Commission made a proposal on 2030 targets that lacked any ambition.

The European Parliament has voted in favour of a report that calls for an EU roadmap against homophobia, and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The report was drafted by Ulrike Lunacek MEP, who is the co-president of the Intergroup on LGBT Rights in the EP.

Socialistisk Folkeparti have made the difficult decision to pull out of the Danish government, after failing to reach agreement with their coalition partners on the partial sale of Dong, the state-owned energy company, to Goldmann Sachs.

The two are the winners of the historic Green Primary, the first ever Europe-wide open online process to select leading candidates for the European elections. Ska Keller and José Bové will be the figureheads of the third common Green European campaign, and lead the united Green parties of Europe in spreading the message that we can and will bring the change that EU so desperately needs.

Czech Greens re-elected their party leader and prepare to campaign

The Czech Green Party (Strana zelených) held its Congress in Prague on January 25-26. After the early national election in October the board of the party announced that they would resign, to give way for new voices. Delegates chose the party's new leaders on the first day of the Congress. Outgoing Chairman Ondřej Liška was re-elected for the fourth time since 2009 with a substantial majority.
