The European Green family condemns President Putin’s war against Ukraine in the strongest way possible. Russia’s full-fledged invasion constitutes an outright attack on Ukraine’s sovereignty and
is a flagrant violation of international law.

Putin's announcement about the recognition of contested regions Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine as so-called independent states is a clear attack on Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The German Greens had historic results in the federal election in Germany held in September 2021, with 14.8% of the vote! They secured the strongest gains (+5.8%) compared to other parties, almost doubling their vote share from the previous 2017 election and obtaining 118 seats in the Parliament. They also had the best results among young voters, with 22% of those under 30 voting for the Greens.

The 34th European Green Party Council was held on 1 - 4 December 2021. It brough together the Green family to discuss our resolutions and plans for 2022. With our member parties, we will continue to invest in actions that take us a step closer to our vision of a Greener Europe!
