Glasgow, 4 December 2016
The European Green Party (EGP) held today the closing session of its 25th Council Meeting in Glasgow, which represented the first major event of any of the European political parties in Scotland after the Brexit vote.
The 46 EGP member parties debated and voted with solid agreement on the consequences of the EU referendum and other several major issues like tax justice and the delicate political situation in Turkey and Cyprus.
Among the key subjects discussed in the three-day meeting, the key position of Scotland in the EU was strongly underlined, as the aftermath of the EU referendum is not only an issue for Scotland or the UK, but also an issue of fundamental importance for the rest of the European Union.
