The European Green Party held its 23rd Council Meeting in Lyon, France, from 13-15 November, hosted by our member party Europe Écologie Les Verts.
It covered key political issues for the Greens, such as climate change, and we were very pleased to welcome Connie Hedegaard, former EU Commissioner for Climate Action, for a keynote address.
Other key issues, such as the migrant crisis and a transition towards a circular economy were set to be discussed, however, the programme was abruptly suspended due to the Paris attacks. The European Green family expressed its solidarity with the people of Paris and offered condolences to the loved ones of those who lost their lives.
On Sunday we welcomed DOM to our Green family, a new candidate member from Macedonia. We also adopted four resolutions and elected a new committee for the 2015 - 2019 mandate.
