On Sunday, more than 53.7 million Turkish voters took to the polls to elect a new parliament, and through the results changed the political landscape of Turkey.

Results from the municipal and regional elections that were held in Spain may represent the beginning of an altered political era for the country. 

The Swedish Prime Minister has called snap elections for 22 March 2015, after his government lost a budget vote on 3 December. The Swedish Green party Miljöpartiet de gröna, who have six ministers in the outgoing government, have reacted to the development by confirming that they are ready for the campaign ahead. 

Early figures indicate that pro-European parties have won in parliamentary elections in Ukraine. Reinhard Bütikofer, Co-Chair of the European Green Party, comments on the election in Ukraine: “We welcome the pro-European orientation that the clear majority of Ukrainian voters have given their government and hope that this pro-European move can be implemented."

Congratulations to both Boris Palmer, who was re-elected mayor in Tübingen, Germany, and to Strana zelených, the Czech Green party, for their success in the second round of Senate elections.
