Claire Roumet is Director of Energy cities, the European association of local authorities in energy transition. Energy Cities opens dialogue between Mayors and EU institutions to accelerate the energy transition of European cities, with the example of its pioneer 1000 members located in 30 countries. Democratise, Devolve, and Divest are our drivers for change to support cities in transforming their communities. She joined the team of Energy cities 3 years ago after a decade years as Secretary General of Housing Europe, the Federation of social housing providers. She is French and graduated in economics. She has done a post-graduate in European policies in Strasbourg after a year of econometrics in Mainz, Germany. Living in Brussels, she speaks English, Spanish and French with some German. |

Paul Getsos, National Director, People's Climate Movement, United States Paul Getsos has more than 25 years of experience working to expand participation by disadvantaged people in the decisions impacting their lives and their communities. Over the past four years, he has worked at the intersection of the new vibrant social movement formations addressing climate change and inequality. He currently serves as the National Director of the People’s Climate Movement, which is working at the intersection of climate change, economic and racial justice. The Peoples Climate Movement has mobilized over 600,000 over the last 3 years on the issues of climate change and justice – most recently in one of the largest mobilizations against the Trump administration this last spring. PCM is also working at the state and local level to build a strong climate movement rooted in economic and racial justice and working to bring climate change into the national dialogue during next years important mid-term elections. Moderator: Oras Tynkkynen, EGP Committee Member, Finland Oras Tynkkynen is a senior advisor, consultant, city councillor and deputy MEP. He represented the Greens in the Finnish Parliament from 2004 until 2015, being in charge of climate and energy policy and also serving as the the group leader. From 2007 until April 2011, he was appointed climate policy specialist in the Prime Minister’s Office, and was in charge of writing the government foresight report on climate and energy policy. Currently, Oras Tynkkynen works as a Senior Advisor at the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra and in his own climate and sustainability consultancy Tyrsky. |
