Session organised within the framework of EGP Gender network at the Council in Karlstad, Saturday, 25 November, 18:45 - 20.30.
As some of you might know, Sweden has a feminist government and a feminist foreign policy since 2014. Socialdemokraterna and Miljöpartiet de Gröna, the coalition parties in the Swedish government, has stated that we are a feminist government. Social Democrats and the Green Party have since then formed the government three priority issues: climate, school and work. That we are a feminist government permeates all political proposals. But how do we do that in practice then?
As a feminist party Miljöpartiet de Gröna also works with gender equality within the party itself. If we want to work with gender mainstreaming within the political policies, we as a party also need to organise ourselves in an equal way. But how can a political party do this? After the presentations we will facilitate a workshop based on the examples given, which invites all participants to reflect on the current situation at home and how to improve it.
Speakers:
- Gunvor G Ericson, State Secretary for the State Council, Sweden
- Kukkamariia Valtola Sjöberg, Spokesperson Gender and Diversity Committee, Swedish Green Party
