If you are passionate about mobilizing volunteers to support the European Green Party's mission in the upcoming European Parliamentary elections, we’d love to hear from you!
As our Volunteer Relations Manager you will:
- Develop and implement strategies to attract dedicated (digital) volunteers from all over Europe who are aligned with the European Greens’ values and objectives;
- Foster a sense of community and commitment among volunteers, keeping them motivated and informed about the campaign activities;
- Assess volunteers' skills and interests and accordingly assign them to tasks and projects that match their abilities (e.g. spotting and dealing with disinformation, providing translations, making memes, reacting to online comments, organizing at events, etc.);
- Provide training, guidance, and support to volunteers to ensure they can perform their tasks effectively;
- Cooperate with the rest of the EGP Team on additional tasks that might be upcoming in relation to activities, events, visits as part of the Common campaign of the EGP.

Requirements:
- Proven experience and/or talent for managing and coordinating volunteers, preferably in a political campaign or similar environment;
- Skilful in volunteer recruitment strategies, attracting individuals who share the European Green Party's values and maintaining digital communities;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to maintain volunteer motivation and engagement;
- Ability to evaluate volunteers’ skills and effectively match them to required tasks;
- Flexibility and interest in participating in other aspects of the European Green Party Campaign;
- A strong grasp of Green, European and global politics with strong political sensitivity, a genuine passion for green causes and a commitment to promoting the European Green Party's vision;
- Work permit in Belgium (due to brief timeline, EGP (European Green Party) will not be able to apply for a work permit for this position. This means that non-EU candidates must already have a work permit in Belgium to apply).
Assets:
- Experience in managing volunteers in a political campaign or similar advocacy effort.
- Proficiency in multiple European languages to engage with a diverse volunteer base.
- Skills in fostering a sense of community, motivation, and purpose among volunteers.
- Experience in providing training and support to volunteers, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
- Experience with digital communication platforms such as Slack, Discord and Telegram.
- Knowledge of volunteer recognition programs to motivate and acknowledge outstanding contributions.
- While not mandatory, previous work experience within a Green Party would be considered an asset. Alternatively, work experience in a political campaign, another political organisation, an international institution, an NGO or a campaign organisation focused on EU politics will be considered an asset;
Our offer:
- A full time (38 hours / week) contract (until 30 June 2024) with flexible working hours. Please note that occasional work-trips abroad and, in urgent cases, unsocial working hours may be required;

Work location:
The work is mainly located at the European Green Party headquarters: Rue du Taciturne 34, 1000, with occasional travel, both in Belgium and abroad.
