Position: Political Assistant / Advisor to Co-chair Cuffe for the European Green Party

As political assistant / advisor to co-chair Cuffe you will be responsible for:
- Providing political support to the Co-Chair and facilitating the Co-Chairs’ political input, both internally towards the team and externally, concerning EGP-related activities;
- Following the work of the EGP office, especially with regards to the member parties and projects under the responsibility of the Co-Chair, ensure a constant flow of information in both directions, propose actions points where relevant and support the broader organizational strategy with regards to its membership;
- Preparing and supporting the work of the Co-Chair with regards to political speeches and messages, including preparations for missions as well as participation at EGP and member party events;
- Attending and supporting the Co-chair in preparation for the Committee meetings;
- Following and monitoring the EU political agenda and providing the relevant input as well as propose action where relevant for the work of the co-chair;
- Supporting the EGP media outreach and the Co-Chairs‘ media channels in close coordination with the Communication Unit;
- Providing logistical and administrative support to the Co-Chairs concerning their EGP-related tasks, including manage the mailbox and agenda planning of the Co-chair, and be access point for external contacts.
The assistant / advisor will be part of the Policy, Strategy and Capacity Development Unit, and work under the supervision of the Head of the Unit and Secretary General.
Indicative starting date: 1st May 2025 / Position to be filled as soon as possible.
Requirements:
- Previous work experience in similar positions (minimum 1 year);
- Good organisational and time management skills;
- Ability to take initiative and problem-solving attitude;
- Good computer skills and digital literacy;
- Good people skills and the ability to work in multi-cultural teams and environments;
- Flexibility to travel and occasionally work during evenings or weekends;
- Proficiency in the English language (working language of the organisation);
- Knowledge of additional European languages.
Assets:
- Understanding and adhering to Green values such as ecology, feminism, anti-racism and social justice;
- Experience of working in a political environment: within a Green Party, another political organisation, an international institution, an NGO or a campaign organisation focused on EU politics.

The work is mainly located at the European Green Party headquarters: Rue du Taciturne 34, 1000; with occasional travel, both in Belgium and abroad.
