Europe, as the rest of the world has been striked with Coronavirus pandemic, and life and functioning of the citizens, organisations, institutions has drastically changed. Crisis has left a huge impact on individuals, communities and states. Recovery plan(s) had become the focal point of discussing the near and long term future, from local to European level.

EGP together with its member parties and Green group in the European parliament worked hard on discussing and designing Green response that entails our vision how to move through and beyond the crisis. At the 31st EGP Council in June 2020 we have adopted the resolution that explains our common position.

‘CORONAVIRUS RECOVERY: LET'S BUILD A BETTER TOMORROW!’

With this project we want to communicate and spread our shared vision and directions for the Green recovery plan, across Europe, and discuss the next steps with the local Green parties and relevant stakeholders.

At the same time, public health measures dynamics do not allow us to execute concrete planning at this stage. We have to be flexible and work with several project models, assuming that we can still achieve the same aim, and be ready and able to adjust practical execution of the project.

Aim:
Establish the Green recovery plan as relevant part of public debate across Europe
Support the local and regional policies for the Green recovery across Europe

Objectives:
1. Enlarge the outreach of the Green recovery plan and Green answers to the crisis in European media and public opinion, especially in countries where this is most needed.
2. Showcase European perspective of the Green proposals backed by argumentation and good practices
3. Enable the platform for interaction and discussion between the European and local recovery plans
4. Increase the credibility and raise profile of Green policy solutions and build alliances towards public and CSO
