For the second time since arriving at the European Green Party headquarters here in Brussels about nine months ago, I am bouncing about the office. I am heading to Athens by train for the Athens Council!!
The EGP are heading to Athens by train. The journey is an opportunity to meet with Green members, campaigners, activists and offices staff en route as we head to the 17th EGP Council in Athens. It all starts on October 31 and arrives in Athens on November 7. You can also follow us on Facebook.
"The years ahead present important challenges for the European Greens. The widespread fear and uncertainty caused by the economic crisis is threatening to derail the common European project and to undo important advancements, not least in the domain of human rights. Few countries in Europe are suffering as much from the crisis and are seeing such a fast rise of poverty, environmental degradation and xenophobism as Greece, the country that I will represent in the Committee and whose experience I will try to convey."
Blog post by Alice Rosmi, EGP's council organiser. She is in Athens right now, keeping you up to date about all the council preparations.
We are going by train to Athens, and you?
As the resolutions are prepared, they will be made available from this page. You can find here a table with deadlines for tabling resolutions and emergency resolutions and amendments.
