"The Institute for Political Ecology in cooperation with Sustainable Energy Youth Network (SEYN), Green European Foundation, Green action - FOE Croatia and Heinrich Böll Stiftung is opening the call for participation for the 1st SEYN Academy which will take place on island of Šolta, Croatia from 27 July until 1 August 2015."
1. In the last 7 years the Republic of Croatia has claimed the building of golf-courses to be of strategic importance for tourism. According to the proposal of the new physical plan for the Istria Region, there is a plan to build 22 golf-courses and an unknown number of polo-fields. The total construction area for this purpose is estimated to be 3200 hectares (32 square kilometres) or more. As far as is known there is no part of the world with such a large number of golf-courses.
On Sunday, 11th of January 2015, a second round of presidential elections were held in Croatia - Kolinda Grabar Kitarović won, having previously placed second in the first round of elections.Ms Kolinda Grabar Kitarović is a member of HDZ – Hrvatska demokratska zajednica, the Christian-Democrats Party. She received support for her candidature from a right-of-centre coalition. She won over Ivo Josipović with 50.74% of the vote; Josipović received 49.26%. The overall turnout was 59.04%.
