RESOLUTIONS
We are looking forward to meet all of you in Utrecht. There is something you should definitely know: in Utrecht, we bike!
What role for the Greens in Europe to fight tax evasion and tax avoidance?
There is a commonly accepted idea that people don't like to pay taxes. But unless one has never enjoyed direct or indirect protection from fires, safe streets, children with education, health care, environmentally safe food and water or free city parks, one cannot complain to pay taxes.
European Queer Greens (EQG) will organise parallel session during the EGP 24th Council in Utrecht. We will have opportunity to meet Pink network of Groen Links (EGP Member party from NL) and learn more about their work. Further more, we will use the opportunity to present in details upcoming June event of EQG in Vilnisu, Lithuania and hear interesting updates from you.
CETA is going to be decided this year. Even with the new reforms of the commission for ISDS into a fixed tribunal, we have still enough concerns left. Beside the tribunal for investment there are worrying signs that the Agreement might be put into force without the consent of the national parliaments.
The workshop will be split in two parts:
1) Input from Greens/EFA Advisor Martin Koehler and STOP-TTIP Campaigner Stephanie Roth
2) Discussion about counter-strategies of the Greens on national levels as well as the European level.
In this session, delegates have the chance to meet the candidates running for positions in the Amendments Committee, the Conciliation Panel and the Global Greens Coordination. There will be time for presentations and a meet & greet. Candidates who unfortunately cannot attend the council, have the chance to join this session via Skype.
Treasurers of the EGP member parties are invited to join this session, to get the latest information on the financial situation of the EGP.
