EGP 13th Council Meeting, Tallinn, 8-10 October 2010

Council Programme

The 13th Council meeting of the European Green Party will take place at Tallinn , Estonia, from the 8 th to 10 th of October 2010. The European Green Party, the Estonian Greens , and the independent member of European parliament, Indrek Tarand , are very happy to welcome you in Tallinn!

Green New Deal

The Green New Deal , the green macroeconomic and financial programme, will be the central theme of the council, the first paper to be presented will be on the topic. On Friday we will organize an open conference with Estonian stakeholders, experts, and entrepreneurs to discuss the Green way out of the crisis. The European environmental tax reform, low carbon economy and the perspective for Green Collar Jobs will be discussed.

A diverse programme

On Saturday the plenary session is dedicated to the Green New Deal . We will organize parallel sessions on both Friday and Saturday afternoon. Besides the working group on Climate Change we will organize fringe meetings for networks and topical workshops on energy security, fragmentation and polarization of the political landscape, nuclear disarmament, and a session on the European Citizens’ Initiative . The programme is full of opportunities for networking and experience sharing, as well possibilities to attend workshops, where you can actively participate with topics that you find interesting. Where?

Both the rooms and the Council venue are in the Meriton Conference Hotel . You are nevertheless free to book accommodation elsewhere if you choose so.

Costs?

100 euros (to be covered in advance), with a reduced fee for students who are not part of their party delegation

Facilities?

There will be childcare facilities if there is a minimum number to realize this. For the plenary debate we will provide translation from Russian to English.
