WATCH THE STREAM HERE

What a year 2021 has been! The Green Wave has continued to translate into an enlarged voter base and successful elections, and we are now in government in 8 countries in Europe. We also passed a total of 23 resolutions on crucial issues such as fair distribution of COVID vaccines, a four-day work week, global climate action, energy poverty, and more. As we approach 2022, it’s time to get together and celebrate all that we have achieved together.

The European Greens are pleased to invite you to our virtual New Year’s Reception, which will take place on Tuesday, 1 February from 19:00 to 20:00 CET. We look forward to reflecting on this past year with you and celebrating the new year together!

EGP co-chairs Evelyne Huytebroeck and Thomas Waitz will welcome you with their reflections on the challenges and successes in the year behind us, followed by a lively musical performance and a preview of what awaits us in 2022. We know that 2022 will be a crucial year for politics, with the French elections coming up and new campaigns in the works. We already have a lot of plans and ideas to share with you!

Grab a glass of your favourite fizzy drink and join us to celebrate the New Year together!

Agenda of the New Year’s Reception

19:00 – Welcome to the New Year’s Reception with comedian and TV host Dena Vahdani

19:05 - 2021: A thing of the past or history in the making? with EGP Co-Chairs Evelyne Huytebroeck & Thomas Waitz

19:20 – Coming up: ‘EGP in 2022’

19:25 - Introduction of the artist – Rokia Bamba, sound artist, DJ and radio producer

19:35 – Musical performance by the artist

19:45– Online cocktail: Grab your drink and join the group in Wonder.me. We will be able to see and chat with each other, sing, and laugh together in groups of up to 6 people, while being free to approach anyone who is connected to Wonder.me. This networking part will not be moderated.

We hope that you will join us to enjoy our common achievements and renew our energy to continue the fight for a better, fairer, and greener future!

This is a voluntary donation-based event where we invite you to chip in with a symbolic donation – if you feel like it. Whether that’s 2, 5, or 50 EUR, all donations will go to support the artist. As last year, all money collected goes to our special virtual donation box: the Green family Fund which we dedicate to supporting causes we care about. Art and culture is definitely one of them
