I chair Green Forum Foundation for democracy and capacity building of
Green parties in developing countries. I am also delegate in EGP for
Sweden and a global & local politician.
In my role as a politician and a mother of six children, I can inspire
other women to take part in political life, see the challenges and solve
the problems. I have been an active Green politician for 28 years on all
levels. I am a former MP and was the Spokesperson of Miljöpartiet when we
1988 succeeded to enter the Parliament as a new party after more than 70
years - a historical moment! (Photo)
Sometimes my desire to do something for the world has brought me to
interesting adventures. I went 1995 on a protest trip to Moruroa in the
Pacific Ocean for stopping the nuclear bomb tests and I was jailed but the
weapon tests stopped!
I have been to Chernobyl infected areas, to refugee camps during wars,
lived with Diné(Navajo)Indians in hogans in Big Mountain to hinder forced
relocation…
I am the youngest of five children. My mother became a widow early and my
grandmother, who lived in a valley in Northern Norway, was an early widow
of four young daughters. My grandmother never married again but ran alone
a small farm and survived. She was a very wise woman. Summers in Norway
has characterized my views on life. I have strong faith in woman! I
learned early what life was, clean air, clean water and food that is worth
its salt foods and that all people are important - even if they are small.
