Heading For Africa: Global Greens Set Sights on Senegal for 2012 Congress
Green campaigners from across the world will be gathering in Senegal next year for the third Global Greens Congress, the first ever to be held in Africa and an historic event for the Green movement.
Dakar will be the scene of the Congress from March 29th to April 1st 2012 and the hosts will be the Fédération Démocratique des Ecologistes du Sénégal (FEDES) in partnership with the African Green Federation and the Global Greens Coordination.
The Global Greens have announced the Congress will be “action-oriented, aiming to strengthen Green politics internationally and coordinate our work on important global issues.”
EGP Committee Member Steve EMMOTT says, “The Congress is a major opportunity for the Global Green family to come together to celebrate our growth, our successes and to plan our activities for the years ahead.”
As a strong promoter of global green cooperation, the European Green Party will be assisting in the preparations for the Congress, and will be present with a large and enthusiastic delegation.
