Green party leaders from across Europe are attending a Party Leaders' Meeting today 18 October in Brussels hosted by the European Green Party co-chairs Monica Frassoni and Reinhard Bütikofer.
Speaking during the meeting they stated:
"Green leaders from across Europe are gathering in central Brussels today for its bi-annual Party Leaders' Meeting. Among those attending are Groen President, Meyrem Almaci and Ecolo's co-president Zakia Khattabi, who helped oversee last weekend's Green Wave with unprecedented electoral results in Belgium. Sweden's Deputy Prime Minister Isabella Lövin, who has served as Minister for International Development Cooperation, is also in attendance along with leaders and delegates from a total of 20 European Union countries.
"As the European Green Party, we want to bring about a more hopeful Europe based on a progressive and sustainable future for all its citizens. We believe there is no time to waste and that we need concrete action now.
"The meeting is an opportunity for Green leaders from all over of Europe to exchange views and set priorities in the context of the broader Green family. On top of the agenda will be preparation for a common European campaign and Manifesto and the leading candidate (Spitzenkandidaten) process ahead of the European elections in May 2019."
