Resolution adopted at the EGP Council, Helsinki, 5-7 May 2006. (.pdf)
The Federation of Young European Greens decided at its last General Assembly, 10/03/2006 in Poznan, Poland that FYEG would like to withdraw its observership to the EGP in order to become the Youth Wing of the European Green Party.
The EGP committee was represented at the General Assembly of FYEG by Pekka Haavisto and Helmut Lippelt. The EGP committee has been enjoying the very positive cooperation with FYEG over the last years. The EGP committee thinks that the time is ripe for a deepening of the relationship.
The EGP committee and FYEG would like to ask the Council to approve the following statement:
"The Council expresses its support for FYEG to become the Youth Wing of the European Green Party.
The Council asks the new committee to formulate together with FYEG a proposal on all the changes in the statutes that this decision entails for EGP and FYEG."
