Paul Rösch, Mayor of Merano, South Tyrol, Italy

Born in 1954 in Meran, Paul Rösch studied ethnology and history at the University of Innsbruck. Afterwards he became director of the Tiroler Landesinstitut in Bozen and organized various cultural cross-border projects. For over 20 years he also was president of the educational and cultural organization Urania Meran. He played a major role in the conception and the establishment of the South Tyrol Museum of Tourism „Touriseum“ in Meran and was its director for twelve years. In 2015 he was elected Mayor of Meran. He has published various articles on the fields of ethnology and the history of tourism.
