Brainstorming on how to “link the struggles” between the local, national and the EU level by campaigning together on key green issues. We’ll tell you more about our current Greens/EFA Group Campaigns and you can tell us what you think of them and how we can best work together in the future to fight for people and the planet. In the first part of the session, we will present an overview of our campaigns while in the second part, join one of the following campaigns in a break-out room:
· Digital for the Planet & Digital for the People (Campaigner: Narmine Abou Bakari)
In this room, 2 Digital campaigns are presented:
Digital for the Planet campaign
- Why should the Greens care about greening the ICT sector ?
- How can the Greens achieve a green ICT?
- Which actions are the Greens/EFA planning?
- How can you contribute to the campaign?
Digital for the People campaign
- Why do we need new rules for the Internet?
- What would the internet look like if it was governed by the Greens/EFA ?
- Which actions are the Greens/EFA planning?
- How can you contribute to the campaign?
· GMOs (Campaigner: Franziska Achterberg)
In this room, we will talk about the latest developments in the EU where the Commission wants to revise the GMO legislation and exempt certain GM crops from it - as asked for by Bayer, Corteva & Co.
- What is the Commission up to and why?
- What has the campaign done so far?
- How can we work together to prevent deregulation?
· Migration (Campaigner: Nina Walch)
Presentation of the Europe Welcomes campaign: objectives, targets, timeline, actions, key countries. What is the situation like in your country (politics on national and local level, CSO activities etc) and how can you engage with this campaign? Let's find out synergies and ways to collaborate to make Europe a more welcoming place for refugees and asylum seekers!
· Pesticides (Campaigner: Emmanuel Kujawski)
If the EU is serious about the protection of soils and biodiversity, it has to reduce the use of synthetic pesticides in our agriculture. Major milestones are coming ahead: renewal of glyphosate, 50% reduction of use by 2030... How can we achieve this together? In this room, structure, actions, goals and targets of the Pesticides Campaign are presented. Join and have a chat on how we can collaborate!
· Weapons Exports (Campaigner: Ischi Graus, MEP: Alviina Alametsä)
We want the EU to be a transparent, ethical and responsible actor in this chaotic world, actively contributing to democracy, freedom and peace. We want to make sure that weapons made in the EU do not end up in the hands of warmongers and are not used to commit any human rights violations. Agenda:
