![]() | Evelyne Huytebroeck, Co-chair, European Greens Evelyne Huytebroeck is a politician and a journalist born in 1958. She is member of the French-speaking Belgian Green Party ECOLO. She was a Member of the Brussels Parliament in 1989 - 2002 and in 2014 - 2019. In 2002 – 2004 she was President of ECOLO. In 2004 – 2014 she was Regional Minister of Environment, Energy, Social Affairs and Youth, as well as Vice-President of the Energy Cities network in 2010 - 2015. She is currently local councilor in Forest (Brussels municipality), President of the BRASS cultural centre and Chair of the Brussels Agency for Business Support. In November 2019 she was elected Co-chair of the European Green Party. | |
Photo: ©bobreijnders | Meyrem Almaci, Co-chair, Groen Meyrem Almaci is a politician and an academic on Comparative cultural studies. Member of Greenpeace and WWF, she started to be involved in Agalev (ex-Groen) in her city of Sint-Gillis-Waas in 2000 and became a local councillor in 2001. She was also involved in Jong Groen (Young Greens) in which she was spokesperson from 2005 to 2006 and chairperson from 2006 to 2007. She was a national MP for Groen in 2007-2019 and Green (ECOLO/Groen) parliamentary group leader in 2011. She is regional MP in Flanders since 2019. She is the president of Groen since 2014. | |
![]() | Rajae Maouane, Co-chair, Ecolo Rajae Maouane is a young politician and graduated in communication. She started being involved in ECOLO as alderwoman advisor of Sarah Turine and became co-political secretary of ECOLO local section in her city of Molenbeek, in Brussels region until 2015. She became co-president of ECOLO Brussels in 2016 and then been elected twice as local councillor in 2018 in Molenbeek and regional MP in 2019. She resigned a couple of months after her election in the regional parliament to become ECOLO co-president at the age of 30. She’s involved in organisations advocating for Youth empowerment, Women’s rights and against discriminations |
