Is a that what you call a change in timetables, involving an early arrival?
After a wonderful day in Sofia with our friends from Zelenite, we had to take the decision on how to deal with the general strike that was announced for Greece on 6th and 7th.
Our original plan of taking the train to Kulata, crossing the border with whatever means of transport and then taking the Greek train down to Athens proofed impossible, due to the involvement of greek railway company OSE into the strike. Doing a detour via Istanbul sounded attractive but were quickly turned down; so since 8 a.m. this morning we are sitting in a bus, expecting to arrive in Athens sometime late this night as the main highways around Athens also seem to be blocked and there some detours are necessary. The later ones are quite scenic, so I seem to be at least the only one who regrets missing the experience of regional Bulgarian trains.
Keep you posted from Athens! And from the way back!
