Parallel session organised during 28th EGP Council in Antwerp, Saturday 19 May 2018, 14.00 - 15.30
National, local or European, elections are always in our focus. It is the time to talk the talk, upon which we will do the walk having got into office. Gender equality is the basic value of our politics, as well as the principle around which we organise and the policy we promote and campaign for. What can gender equality do for elections and what can elections do for the gender equality? We will explore both questions during this parallel session.
How to support more women on the lists; how to ensure women attain electable positions; how to bring gender equality to the campaigning agenda? We will touch on all those topics and discuss strategies, the resources required and possible cooperative actions.
With best practice stories from our member parties and guest speaker Daniela Pichler from the European Women's Lobby, we will look into the upcoming European elections.
Moderator: Vesna Jusup, assistant - Member Party Relations, European Green Party
Speaker: Daniela Pichler, director of the Policy and Campaigning Department at the European Women's Lobby.
Daniela has extensive experience in advocacy and campaigning in topics that tackle wide range of topics, previously working with Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Four paws.
