During the dinner we will welcome Claude Brouir, former Party Leader of Ecolo (Belgium), and former EGP Financial Advisor, who will take part in a cycle tour lasting 100 days and covering 5000 km, linking the capitals of the EU’s founding countries, from Brussels and back, via Amsterdam, Berlin, (Prague, Vienne, Ljubljana), Rome, Paris and Luxembourg. It is a personal challenge for a triple benefit, to which he is hoping to give a collective dimension, while defending values such as the importance of Europe, solidarity among citizens, and renewable energy: the two-seater bicycle is solar driven! He has also started crowdfunding to finance the trip and to support cancer research.
He sets out on Saturday 19 May, and his first stop will be the EGP Council in Antwerp where the bike will be on show, and he will meet participants on Saturday evening and Sunday, especially Green Party members from the countries he will be passing through: Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, France and Luxembourg. The Green Parties are invited to plan activities (events, riding with Claude either on the passenger seat or alongside, visiting green successes, etc.) when the trip passes through their country.
