In memoriam: Lin Tabak

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lin Tabak.

Lin has been the driving force behind our Individual Supporters' Network, which she coordinated with great enthusiasm and passion. Lin TabakLin was a European green in her essence: through her work, through her life, and through her choices she was an example of what being green truly means. She inspired the people around her with her great knowledge of European green politics, and through her articles she was able to carry that knowledge into the world.

Lin has been quite ill for the last few months. She was taken care of by her family and boyfriend, who made her very comfortable during the last months.  Even though her illness made her stay in bed, she was still very interested in the world and what was going on with all the green parties in Europe, and especially the Dutch green party GroenLinks. She gave her opinion on all the developments with the same vigor we were used to.

If you would like to send Lin's family a card, or if you would like to attend the commemoration gathering after her funeral, don't hesitate and send an email to joline.suijkerbuijk@europeangreens.eu.

Consider the comment section below a place to put your condolences and your thoughts about Lin. We will offer these to her family.

God speed Lin.

So many evenings spent with Lin, evenings of joy and passion at each council, at the EGP Summer University, at the French EELV events.
I will sincerely miss you, Lin

Hello,

I'm terribly saddened to hear of Lin's passing. I had the opportunity to work with her during the Paris EGP congress, and was astonished by her willpower and work capacity. Hearing of her demise is motivating me to become much more active in the Individual Supporter's Network, and I'm sure she would approve.

Please include me in the many condolences which I am sure you will pass on to her family.

Thank you,

Gaël Lancelot

I am really sad, as I was in touch with her to exchange our analyses on the evolution of health systems in the Netherlands and France. She invited me to a meeting in Amsterdam and she came several times to the Summer days of the Green Party. She was a precious link.
She will stay in my thoughts.

Even as a latecomer to the European Greens scene, I have witnessed the vigour and wisdom Lin put to the cause she believed in. We all over Europe will miss her, the friendship she generously offered and her sense of teamwork. We will continue her work.

Lin was a source of inspiration, a great conversation partner and - when we disagreed - a formidable opponent. In short, she was a person I held in very high regard. She will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear about Lin. It came unexpected to me.
Though our opinions did not always coincide, I admired her for the way she sincerely believed in them and strived to change things for the better.
May she rest in peace.

I am quite shocked to hear about Lin's passing. A week ago, I was offering my Balkan Network coordinator to invite her to our network meeting in Athens to give a talk on mobilising people. She was one of the few people at EGP meetings I remember with full of energy and motivation to change, to help out others to sort out things. My condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
